91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳Celebrates NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To acknowledge this, 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳will showcase Indigenous culture through a series of events and activities across our portfolio.
Throughout the week, we have organised several amazing events across our assets and offices, in collaboration with our communities. From captivating painting workshops with the talented to a mesmerising contemporary dance performance by the renowned , and a special morning tea at South Eveleigh, catered by Biri Biri Catering - owned by the respected Aboriginal elder, Aunty Beryl Van-Oploo. We will also be hosting a special panel event at our 200 George Street HQ featuring:
- Kamilaroi man Corey Tutt, CEO of , a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing science resources and early reading material to remote schools in Australia. Corey has just authored a book called The First Scientists, Deadly Inventions and Innovations from Australia's First Peoples.
- Rowena Welsh-Jarrett, Director of Cultural Heritage, & Senior Heritage Officer and Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council. Rowena has been working closely with Mirvac’s Harbourside project team
While NAIDOC Week officially lasts for seven days, our commitment to acknowledging, respecting, and celebrating our Indigenous communities extends far beyond.
